Effects of Sugar Minutes 1-10

You have just fed your body 100% of the recommended daily intake (10 teaspoons). The only reason this amount of sugar doesn’t shock you is because phosphoric acid works to cut the flavor and its effect but, too much phosphoric acid can lead to bone loss.

Effects of Sugar Minutes 10-30

Your blood sugar spikes, insulin starts to work to lower your blood sugar level, and your liver begins to turn sugar to fat. Based off of those 10 teaspoons, there’s quite a bit of sugar to turn to fat. Long term there is an increased risk for heart disease and cirrhosis of the liver.

All of the caffeine in this can of soda is absorbed. Your liver begins to dump more sugar into your bloodstream and as a result your blood pressure begins to rise, and your pupils become dilated. The adenosine receptors in your body are now blocked, preventing drowsiness.

Effects of Sugar Minutes 40-45

Your body starts to produce more dopamine stimulating the pleasure centers of your brain. This is also what happens to heroin users.

Effects of Sugar Minutes 45-60

Phosphoric acid begins to bind calcium, magnesium, and zinc in your lower intestine, boosting your metabolism. Caffeine is a diuretic and will increase your urge to use the restroom.

This is intensified by the high doses of artificial sweeteners and sugar, resulting in increased urinary excretion of calcium, magnesium, zinc, sodium, electrolytes, and water that were previously headed to your bones.
