"Genetics do not set you up. Healing does."
You've cleaned up your diet. You've tried the supplements. You've followed the protocol to the letter. And yet healing still feels slow, inconsistent, or like it's stalled altogether. For many patients, this is the pattern of real effort, real compliance, and still no lasting resolution.
In this solo episode of The Resiliency Method® The Truth About Healing Podcast, Dr. Erika steps back from any single case to ask a bigger question than "why isn't this working?" Namely, what does healing actually require, and why does it take the time it takes?
Your Body Is Already Designed to Heal
Dr. Erika opens with the belief that shapes her entire methodology: the body is "made perfect in design" and already holds everything it needs to heal. Healing was never meant to be forced with drugs, surgery, or even supplements used as a quick fix. It's about putting the right support in the right order, timing, and amount so the body can do what it was built to do.
The Orchestra: Why the Practitioner's Role Changes Over Time
To explain how support should be structured, Dr. Erika compares the body to a symphony that needs a conductor. Early in care, the practitioner leads directively, coordinating timing between systems the way a conductor cues each section of an orchestra. But as healing progresses, the patient gradually "takes the baton," learning to read their own body's signals and conduct their own health going forward.
Healing Moves in a Spiral, Not a Straight Line
The clinical throughline of this episode is that healing unfolds in phases, not all at once. Dr. Erika walks through the spiral model:
Phase 1 "Filling the dumpster": the first phase focuses on clearing out what's been causing unrest in the body. Many programs stop here, mistaking early symptom relief for full resolution.
Deeper in the spiral: once that foundational phase is complete, the body has "earned the right" to go deeper into rebuilding organs, tissues, and glands, and addressing true root causes, including patterns that may look hereditary but aren't fixed fate.
Skipping ahead into deeper repair before the body is ready doesn't speed healing up; it causes confusion in the body, which Dr. Erika says is why so many healing protocols fall short, even when the individual ingredients are right.
Why Guesswork Doesn't Belong in a Healing Protocol
Just as important as what's included in a protocol is when it's introduced. Without the right sequence, even well-designed support can stall progress or trigger setbacks. Addressing the nervous system before anything else, Dr. Erika explains, isn't optional, it's the gatekeeper. She describes it as "the knight at the castle door": nothing gets past it until it's calm and supported. Sleep, digestion, and proper drainage are the earliest, most critical priorities in any healing process, and skipping them in favor of more "exciting" interventions is one of the most common mistakes she sees.
The Question Worth Asking
None of this means healing should be rushed, or that every plateau is a crisis. But the episode makes the case that a stalled protocol isn't proof that healing isn't happening; it's often a sign the sequence hasn't been addressed yet.
"Genetics do not set you up. Healing does."
This episode is a reminder that being "compliant" and still not stable isn't a contradiction; it's a clue that the order, timing, or depth of your protocol is worth a second look.
