Learn About Our Resiliency Method

What’s underneath this, and what will support the body?

What’s underneath this, and what will support the body?

“Resilience isn’t avoiding every trigger. It’s building a body that can adapt.”

Have you worked through one approach after another, only to watch your progress stall again? In this guest episode of The Resiliency Method® The Truth About Healing Podcast, Dr. Erika Schultz sits down with functional nutrition coach Michele Law to talk about her long journey with chronic migraines, food sensitivities, and environmental triggers. Michele also explains how that journey changed the way she supports her own clients.

Meet Michele Law

Michele is a functional nutrition coach based in the Rochester, New York, area who works with clients locally and nationwide. With 11 years of healthcare experience, she brings two perspectives to this conversation: that of a patient who spent years searching for answers, and that of a practitioner helping others do the same.

Years of Searching, Repeated Plateaus

Michele lived with chronic migraines for much of her life, along with environmental and food sensitivities and episodes of blood sugar dysregulation. She tried dietary changes, exercise, medications, chiropractic care, acupuncture, and other supportive therapies. Some of these helped, but she kept reaching plateaus and felt there was still more to understand about what was driving her symptoms.

Progress That Took Time

Michele describes beginning the Resiliency Method® and is candid that her progress was not immediate. The first few months were still challenging. Over time, though, she noticed changes that encouraged her to keep going, and the experience shifted how she viewed her ongoing health concerns.

Food Flexibility: One Personal Example

Michele had avoided gluten for years because she experienced symptoms when she ate it. She shares that she was later able to reintroduce certain gluten-containing foods without noticing the same effects. She presents this as her individual experience, not a guarantee that others with food sensitivities will have the same outcome.

From Worry to Freedom

Before, travel brought constant concern for Michele: the hotel, the food, the water, possible mold exposure. Through her experience with the Resiliency Method®, she says she became less worried about these possibilities and more comfortable traveling. She describes the change as bringing more peace, relief, and freedom into her life.

What Changed in Her Practice

Michele also shares how her experience shapes her work with clients, including those who have reached plateaus of their own. Continuing her education and changing the questions she asks have helped her look beyond the presenting symptom, explore possible contributing factors, and identify what support may be right for each person.

Foundational Support vs. “More”

Dr. Erika and Michele discuss the difference between repeatedly focusing on elimination and detoxification strategies and considering foundational nutritional support, including minerals, B vitamins, and fatty acids. They encourage practitioners to think critically about whether their approach is meeting the individual’s needs, rather than assuming more intensive interventions are always necessary.

The Question Worth Asking

The episode closes with the question that guides Michele’s work today: What’s underneath this, and what will support the body? It’s an invitation to look beyond symptom management toward a more thoughtful, individualized approach built on resilience and adaptability.
