Can the Body Truly Heal? Lyric Turner's Journey From Two Decades of Illness to Full Restoration

"Chronic symptoms are not your destiny. They are signals — and signals can be answered."

Twenty-seven years. That's how long Lyric Turner lived with symptoms that conventional medicine consistently failed to resolve. Chronic digestive issues. Autoimmune flare-ups. Back pain. Fatigue. Hair loss. A diagnosis of ankylosing spondylitis that came with steroids and a lifetime of management as the best-case scenario.

And then: full restoration of health. Not management. Not coping. Resolution.

In this episode of The Resiliency Method® The Truth About Healing Podcast, Lyric shares the journey the wrong turns, the breakthroughs, and what it actually took to finally heal.

Where It Began: A Severe Infection and a Compromised Foundation

Lyric's health journey began in 1997 following a severe infection that left her immune system and gut compromised in ways that weren't immediately visible. Over the following two decades, symptoms compounded. She saw doctor after doctor. Received diagnosis after diagnosis. Tried protocol after protocol.

"I wasn't getting worse because I wasn't trying," Lyric says. "I was getting worse because no one was asking the right questions."

What Conventional Medicine Missed

Despite the extensive medical history, several critical contributors to Lyric's condition had never been identified or addressed:

  1. Gut imbalances — dysbiosis and permeability that persisted beneath symptom-level treatment
  2. Unresolved C-section scar tissue — creating energetic and structural disruption
  3. Heavy metal burden — accumulated over years of exposure
  4. Fungal overgrowth — fueling inflammatory cycles
  5. Stealth pathogens — chronic infections that operate below standard diagnostic thresholds

These are not obscure findings. They are patterns that functional and integrative medicine practitioners identify regularly. But they require asking different questions and using different tools — than conventional approaches provide.

The Turn: Functional Medicine, Acupuncture, and The Resiliency Method®

Through a combination of dietary change, functional medicine, acupuncture, and eventually The Resiliency Method®, Lyric began uncovering and addressing these hidden drivers one by one. The process wasn't linear healing rarely is. But the trajectory changed.

"Every time we addressed a root cause, something else cleared," she explains. "It wasn't about adding more treatments. It was about removing what was in the way."

Over time, she reversed sensitivities that had defined her life. Regained energy. Resolved the inflammatory patterns that had been labeled permanent. And eventually, became a practitioner herself to help others find what she found.

What Lyric's Story Teaches Us About Healing

Curiosity Over Acceptance

Lyric never stopped asking "why." That posture of curiosity refusing to accept symptom management as a destination was a prerequisite for eventually finding resolution.

The Right Relationship With Your Practitioner Matters

Healing is collaborative. The practitioners who made a difference weren't the ones who had all the answers they were the ones who asked better questions and stayed genuinely curious alongside her.

The Body Has an Innate Capacity to Heal

Perhaps the most important message in this conversation: the body is not the problem. Given the right conditions cleared of blockages, supported in the right sequence  it moves toward healing. That is its nature.

"Am I capable of healing?" That question, Lyric says, is where every real health journey begins.
