Cranberry Orange Sauce

Cranberry sauce is one of those Thanksgiving treats where lots of sugar sneaks in! This cranberry orange sauce recipe comes from Erika’s mom, and puts a healthy twist on a holiday favorite!
Servings 2- ¼ cup
Ingredients
½ cup fresh orange juice from one orange
½ cup water
1 (12 oz) bag fresh or frozen cranberries (do not use dried)
Zest of one orange, about 2 teaspoons
Pinch of salt
Honey and agave to sweeten
Instructions
- Bring orange juice and water to a boil in a medium saucepan. Add cranberries, orange zest and salt and bring back to a boil. Reduce heat to medium and boil gently for about ten minutes, until most of the cranberries have burst open. Stir in desired amount of sweetener.
- Transfer cranberry orange sauce to a serving bowl. Cover and chill until ready to serve.
