Laser acupuncture uses low-power laser light at specific wavelengths to stimulate the acupuncture points and bring about effects similar to acupuncture needles.  The low-power laser beam does not produce any sensation of pain or heat, nor does it harm the tissue and is safe for use with sensitive skin types.

Cold laser therapy is also sometimes used for similar purposes and/or for treating of old scars.

Treatment results can often be obtained within less time, making this treatment approach ideal for children and elderly patients.
