There are hundreds of adverse health effects that can arise from exposures to toxins and chemicals through our skin, including cancer, deficits in attention (ADD/ADHD), thyroid issues, allergies, auto immune diseases and infertility – just to name a few.
Reality is, the products we use every day on our bodies and our children’s bodies are equally – if not more – harmful to our health than the foods we are eating.
Safe cosmetics and personal care product companies are hard to come by, but one we have found and advocate for is called Beautycounter (see the YouTube clip “The Ugly Truth About the Beauty Industry” with Beautycounter’s founder Gregg Renfrew).
Beautycounter’s mission is to get safe products into everyone’s hands, and is partnering with lobbying groups like the Environmental Working Group– advocating for increased safety in the beauty product and cosmetics industry.
